A Bit of A Scramble
Two last second scratches forced a hurried adjustment to the original tournament schedule. Fortunately, the JB formulas are flexible and allows for necessary modification without compromising quality of play or opportunities.
We played four rounds of 3 pools, two consisting of 5 players and one of 4 players. After each round, using a sift and sort method, players were moved among the rounds so each could play with others.
Each player played a minimum of 12 games or a maximum of 16 games. However, every player played the same number of minutes as each pool's games were adjusted in length to equal time. Every player played 145 minutes of volleyball, pretty much non-stop.
