Below is a description of our Summer Camps for 2015!
All summer camps require a Non-Refundable Deposit within 2 weeks of complete registration. CASH OR CHECK , OR PayPal which is ONLY available upon registration. All camps that run from 9am-4pm will have a break from Noon-1pm for lunch. If you have any questions about a camp please email Barb Neville at barb@nevillizms.com. Middle School Camp - DONE
June 22nd-24th, (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,) 9am-4pm Daily
Cost: $280 ($100 Non-Refundable Deposit)
Grades: 7th & 8th
This camp is designed for girls who are entering grades 7th and 8th who have some or little volleyball experience. A review of ball handling keys and skills will be emphasized along with developing a strong overhead serve and hitting skills. Each day the skills will be applied in the game situations as we teach systems of play. Lots of quality contacts; Lots of Play; Lots of FUN!!!!!
We use both courts and will run groups in like-skill levels. The camp itinerary is the same as the Advanced MS camp, but will be coached to the level of the players. The higher the skill level, the more highly skilled the training.

The goal is to be selected to your high school volleyball team program. Incoming freshmen face big challenges: New school, New volleyball program... This JYD camp is designed to pave the way to success. Besides carefully covering the critical skills, making drills work, effective communication, showcasing competitiveness, and how to best present yourself so the coaches want you, also is developing a plan to maximize your preparation during the summer. BONUS: there is a 25% discount on the follow-up camp, August 1-4, if you sign up for both this camp and the end-of-summer follow-up camp.

This camp is designed for players who have been playing competitive volleyball for at least 4 to 5 years. Players must have excellent first ball control skills and the ability to effectively attack and serve. We will do high level ball handling and attack drills. A major focus will be on more sophisticated strategies as well as learning how to scout an opponent. There is plenty of competition, fun, and contests for “fabulous prizes.”

July 15th-18th, (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,) 9am-4pm Daily
Cost: $360 ($100 Non-Refundable Deposit)
Grades: 11th & 12th, College. This camp will be limited to 18 players.
This camp is for players who are playing high school, have trained at Nevillizms prior to camp, and have demonstrated a level of competitive competency that insures drills and activities can be run at a very high level. This camp would be excellent for active college players as well. Focus on sustained ball control and game application of skill to naturally evolving situations. Decision making by playing roles will be emphasized. There is plenty of competition, fun, and contests for “fabulous prizes.”

The second court will run at an accelerated pace for players who have played volleyball for a couple of years or have participated in camps or scheduled training sessions. Some advanced drills and games will be introduced & taught. Game strategies will be introduced. Lots of quality contacts; Lots of Play; Lots of FUN!!!!!

Ages 13-16
This camp is designed for players who want to work on their playing position. The HITTERS learn approaches to various set locations and tempos. The left side hitters will come to understand getting available and adjusting based on the game situation. The middles will work on quick-set timing and spacing in coordination with the setter. Play-sets, combos, back row hitting, and out-of-system hitting will be covered. The setters will review setter-specific techniques as well as getting the most our of their hitters. There will be plenty of play to put the skills into game action.

Serve-Serve Receive Offense
July 28th-30th, (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,) 9am-4pm Daily
Cost: $280 ($100 Non-Refundable Deposit)
Grades: 8-11
Most coaches agree that the "winner" of the serve and receive game will ultimately win the match. Despite the fact that everyone is impressed by the big hitter, the core of any team is the ability to pass serve and control the first ball. This camp will focus on controlling the first ball - primarily serve-receive. Work on the mental aspects receiving serve; how to read the server; learn how to individualize each serve; work on transitioning from the first ball pass to hitting. Of course the servers will work on the tactics and strategies to make passing tough. The serve and receive battle is pivotal. Plenty of game action will put the lessons into play. This camp is open to ANY and ALL players entering grades 8th-11th.

This camp is certainly a stand alone preparation opportunity for freshmen or any players trying out for high school for the first time. It is a follow-up to the Rising Freshman Stars camp held in June, checking on the summer of preparation. We will cover best methods of presenting yourself in high school tryouts. The focus will be on game application of developing skills.

As in all JYD camps we pay special attention to correct execution of skills through easily understood principles and keys. The focus of this camp is setting: Technique (effective, efficient, execution of skills). Tactics: Learn the cues to make right choices by situation. Leadership: Learn the best methods of elevating the play of your teammates. Debriefs will be done to insure maximum learning. There is plenty of play and contests for “fabulous prizes.”
