Setting Seminar, High School Setters
Bi-Weekly Setting Seminar, September 18; October 2 & 16
Setting is the most demanding and challenging position in volleyball. This bi-weekly seminar provides setters in-season to get extra work on location, tempos, and tactical choices utilizing their in-season experiences as a base for learning.
The setter is far more than a player being able to put the ball up in the air accurately for a hitter to attack. All players must be able to hit, handle the ball, serve, and block (other than the libero.) An accomplished setter has to have skills in three areas besides those that other players must have.
A setter must be effective in the following areas:
Players must be committed to doing assigned "homework" and study besides assigned training tasks. Each player will be expected to keep a journal covering personal training and opponent's analysis.

- Technical: Be able to set the ball consistently, under all conditions.
- Tactical: Be able to make the right choices in all situations.
- Leadership: Be able to lead; to effectively communicate; to elevate the play of teammates.
Players must be committed to doing assigned "homework" and study besides assigned training tasks. Each player will be expected to keep a journal covering personal training and opponent's analysis.
- The series is limited to 8 setters.
- Each of the 3 sessions will be 90 minutes in length.
- Includes Jump Training 6:45-7:30 pm.
- Cost is $150 per player ( $50 Non-Refundable deposit required to hold spot.) Balance due on first day of training. (Checks and cash only at this time.)
