Serving: The skill of serving may be the most unique skill in the game of volleyball. The server has complete control over the ball. Great servers aren't left on the bench. A great serve leads to points. This clinic will focus on the keys to serving, the serving checklist and serving strategies, along with different types of serves (Standing Float, Jump Float, Jump Spin.)
Serve Receive: Serve Receive & Defense are the key contacts that lead to points through transition. The specific skills and keys will be taught as well as how to apply them to the actual game situations. SR/Defense are the foundation of team success and players who excel in these critical areas are given high priority in playing time.
Setting: The setting mini clinics cover the critical elements required of the setter's role. Efficient mechanics including footwork, posture, arm and hand work are taught and practiced. Easily understood keys are presented to insure clear understanding of the lessons taught. Making the best situational choices is another focus as well as instruction of leadership expected of a great setter.
Hitting: The 5 critical keys to successful skills will be thoroughly covered. As players begin to master the basics, attention will be given to various tempo sets, shot location and velocity. They are able to see a situation, assess what is needed, and proceed to make the correct attack choice. How to do this and how to practice it will be covered.
